StreetO at Scotch

Thursday, 4 March 2010

It's always a pleasure and a privilege to orienteer at Scotch College as part of the Eastern Summer Series, and this year was no exception.  The students put in a huge amount of work to prepare three detailed colour maps (two of them on the eastern side of Glenferrie Road), set the courses, and organise the logistics involved in a three loop race.  it sounded complicated, but the instructions and assistance were very clear, and we all had a lot of fun navigating our way around the northeast and southeast maps, before finishing off with a high-paced sprint in the school grounds.  Quick decision making was essential!  Scotch did a fantastic job organising this event and our thanks go to Sid Boydell and his staff and students, and to event advisor John Sheahan (BK).
