A beaut event at Burdoo!

Sunday, 28 February 2010

Geelong Street-O, Burdoo Reserve event, Thursday 25/2/10

What's going on ? – Two Thursdays in a row with good weather !?!?! Yes, Geelong Street-O participants had the luxury of a second week of sunny and cool conditions – ideal for tackling the rolling streetscape of Grovedale.

As always Helen Schofield was meticulous in planning and setting the course. Throughout the Geelong series, Helen has done a huge amount of footwork in field checking of maps, placing out checkpoints and generally helping ensure the smooth running of each event.

Helen-Course Setter.

48 participants enjoyed the fruits of Helens labour.

First timer Gavan had  a ball, with Mike after the event.

Three of these were locals that just happened to be passing. Kerry Thompson managed to complete the course without having to direct traffic.

Peter has had a great series!

Everyone was back in good time, and we had no injuries to participants – a successful event all round.

Our final event for the series will start from the Eastern Park Playround. All participants are asked to bring a plate so that we can socialise afterwards, giving the organisers time to determine series winners for each category. Help to make this event a big night. Bring along your friends and family. Spread the word !!!

Simone has really enjoyed the whole series.

Don’t forget to wear a watch, as all courses will be score events (the same as the Power Walkers)

Pam-Nick-Lachlan and Cameron timed their finish to  perfection.
